There’s a bit of an interesting story behind this image. This pool is at the top of a large cliff near Big Sur, California, that is almost always slick with water. Before the climb, I decided that I’d use the 10.5 fisheye lens, but I wasn’t happy with what I saw through the viewfinder. So, in a great example of the triumph of hope over reality, I shot a half dozen frames, left to right, overlapped in pano fashion. Camera was vertical, and with a bit of fussing around, Photoshop Photomerge did an amazing job of stitching them together.
